Víg Molnár Csárda
A Michelin-recognised Hungarian inn in Csopak with a terrace by a working water wheel — meat-filled pancakes, fish soup and dependable classics.
Víg Molnár Csárda stands in Csopak along road 71 (not in Balatonalmádi itself) — 3 km from Balatonfüred and 12 km from Veszprém. A new team breathed life back into the place in 2011, and since then it has been a whitewashed, rustic-Mediterranean inn, recognised by the Michelin Guide Plate every year since 2022. The best tables are outside on the terrace, right next to a working water wheel.
The kitchen builds on Hungarian classics with a lighter touch: several versions of fish soup, roast meats, meat-filled pancakes as a house specialty, and good quality local ingredients. The wine list focuses on local cellars. From the Balatoni Est Guesthouse it's a 15–18 minute drive along road 71 towards Csopak. An easy recommendation for a family lunch, dinner or anyone craving traditional Hungarian cooking — just remember to book a table.
