Petrányi Winery and Wine Terrace
A Michelin-recommended family winery in Csopak with a 180° view of Lake Balaton and hearty, grandma-style dishes served in generous portions.
The Petrányi Winery and Wine Terrace is in Csopak, on the Szita hill (Fülemüle utca 2) — not in Balatonalmádi, but a 15–20 minute drive to the west. The family has been growing vines since 2001 and opened the wine terrace in 2015; in 2022 they won the “Most Beautiful Vineyard in Hungary” award, and from 2025 they're a Michelin-recommended restaurant. Their specialty is Csopak Olaszrizling, but they also offer Furmint, rosé, reds and sparkling wines.
In the kitchen, Ádám Mede and Endre Ruga took over a new concept: honest, “grandma-style” dishes in generous portions (palóc soup, duck, pumpkin stew, túrós gombóc curd dumplings). The 180° view of Lake Balaton alone is worth the visit. Do book ahead — the terrace fills up quickly in season.
