Almádi Öreghegy Harbour

The town's westernmost sailing harbour below Káptalanfüred, with 168 berths. It's not a beach, but a lovely stop on the lakeside cycle route.

Almádi Öreghegy Harbour

Almádi Öreghegy Harbour (correctly spelled Öreghegyi, not Örgehegyi) sits at the western end of town on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, below Káptalanfüred. It's a sailing marina with 168 berths, run by the Tour Sailing Club (TVSK). Two breakwaters shelter the basin, so the water stays calm even in strong winds.

It's not a tourist attraction in itself — there's no beach, although there are restaurants and viewpoints on the harbour grounds. From the Balatoni Est Guesthouse it is a pleasant 25–30 minute ride along the lakeside cycle path, or about 10 minutes by car. Worth a visit if you're into sailing, or if you're simply looking for a quiet spot for an evening stroll. Address: Véghely Dezső u. 20.
