Booking Terms at the Balatoni Est Guesthouse

Welcome to the Balatoni Est Guesthouse! We are delighted to host you and we are sure your stay will be unforgettable. To make sure everything runs smoothly, please take a moment to read our booking terms.

1. How to Book

Booking the guesthouse is quick and easy. Get in touch with us by phone or email with the following details:

- Name

- Email address

- Phone number

- Arrival and departure dates

- Number of guests (adults and children)

The booking becomes valid once you receive our confirmation, which contains the booking details and all the information you need.

2. Deposit and Payment Terms

To confirm the booking we ask for a 50% deposit within 48 hours. The deposit is paid by bank transfer — you will find the details in the confirmation email.

You can settle the remaining amount on arrival in cash, or in advance by bank transfer. Please note that tourist tax (HUF 790 per night in 2025 for every guest over the age of 18) is paid separately on arrival.

3. Cancellation Terms

- You can cancel your booking up to one week before the arrival date, in which case we refund the deposit in full.

- For cancellations within one week of the arrival date we are unfortunately unable to refund the deposit.

4. Arrival and Departure

- The guesthouse can be occupied from 15:00 on the day of arrival.

- Please leave the guesthouse by 10:00 on the day of departure.

- Early arrival and late departure are possible by prior arrangement, subject to availability.

5. House Rules

Please observe our house rules, which you can find on the website. The house rules are there to make sure every guest can enjoy their stay undisturbed.

6. Safety and Other Terms

- During their stay, every guest is required to follow the safety rules.

- Please take care of the furnishings and the property. Guests are financially liable for any damage they cause.

Use of a document reader: From 06.09.2021, every accommodation provider is required to use a document reader at check-in, for both Hungarian and foreign nationals aged 14 and over.

If a guest arrives without an ID document or refuses to present it, the accommodation provider is obliged to cancel the stay and refuse to hand over the keys.

Please therefore check before travelling that your documents are with you and valid. For Hungarian citizens, an ID card, driving licence or passport is accepted. From guests from the European Union, an ID card or passport is accepted. From guests from third countries, only a passport is accepted for identification and document reading.

This data is transmitted in encrypted form from the accommodation management software to the VIZA system (Guest Information Closed Database, https://vizainfo.hu/). For the reasons set out by law, the data may only be used for the retention period prescribed for accommodation providers.
